Arnaud's restaurant reviewHoping for a bit of chi chi Creole cuisine, we had dinner Friday night at Arnaud's in the Quarter. The waitstaff all wore tuxes, the dessert menu featured bananas foster, and a reservation was required. The restaurant certainly had the appearance of the upscale dining we were seeking.
Then the lady at an adjacent table screamed and knocked over her water glass. A cockroach had crawled over her open-toed sandal. The waiter's response to her alarm? "You're just not from New Orleans."
And later he wiped his nose while preparing the orange flambé.
